| Your
Can-Fit-Pro certification is to be renewed annually. For simplification,
your Can-Fit-Pro membership and certification expire on the
same date each year. Approximately one month prior to the
expiry of your membership and certification, a Recertification
notice will be emailed (current email address on file with
us) or mailed (no email address on file with us) to you to
outline the steps necessary for you to keep your certification(s)
current.
RECERTIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS
Each certification designation held by an individual requires
4.0 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) annually, for Recertification.
A candidate must also submit a current CPR, less than one
year old, and renew their Can-Fit-Pro Professional Membership
at a fee of $49.00 + applicable tax.
GETTING CECs IS SIMPLE
Can-Fit-Pro Conferences, Online Education and Workshops:
CECs may be obtained in a number of different methods. Attendance
at Can-Fit-Pro fitness conferences or workshops are the
most common method of achieving the required CECs. Our conference
sessions and workshops may be accredited for more than one
type of certification designation. For example, if you are
FIS and PTS certified, and you attend a session or workshop
that offers FIS and PTS credits, you would earn one CEC
for both of your certifications (one FIS and one PTS towards
recertification in one workshop). Attendance at one Can-Fit-Pro
conference may give you enough CECs to keep one certification
current for up to two renewal periods (8.0 CECs). If you
hold more than one certification designation, it may be
in your best interest to look for these types of session
/ workshops to streamline your recertification.

ONLINE
EDUCATION
Earn Can-Fit-Pro CECs through Human Kinetics online education.
As part of Can-Fit-Pro’s goal of continuing to meet
the needs of fitness professionals, all members can now
earn CECs through Human Kinetics online education courses.
These courses are specifically designed to meet the needs
of today’s fitness professionals.

You may also accumulate a maximum of 3.0 CECs annually by
reviewing articles and answering an online exam with PT
on the Net. This is a web based resource library for fitness
professionals to gain knowledge, access technical information
along with client support information. Membership is available
annually or monthly and Can-Fit-Pro members receive up to

- Can-Fit-Pro Courses
Effective September 2005 all participants who attend certification
courses will also gain valuable CECs to keep their FIS or
PTS certification current. As a certified FIS or PTS you
will gain 4.0 CECs when you attend any of the following
certification courses: Nutrition & Wellness Specialist
(NWS), Pre & Post Natal Fitness Specialist (PFS), Older
Adult Fitness Specialist (OAS), Mind Body Fitness Specialist
(MBS), or any of the Sport Conditioning Specialist (SCS)
courses. Can-Fit-Pro will automatically credit your CEC
bank account with the 4.0 CECs once you complete the certification
course of your choice!
EVENTS NOT ACCREDITATED
BY Can-Fit-Pro
Events delivered by other organizations may have CEC accreditation
by Can-Fit-Pro. When you consider attending, inquire if
their event offers Can-Fit-Pro CECs. If the event has been
accredited with Can-Fit-Pro CECs, simply forward a copy
of your certificate of completion and we will add those
CECs to your file.

All facets of the fitness industry are constantly adapting
to increased knowledge and client/participant needs and
desires. Continued education ensures that your skills remain
current, you can provide a superior product to those you
work with and you continue to exhibit the qualities of a
Can-Fit-Pro certified specialist.
FAILURE TO MEET CEC REQUIREMENTS
Adequate CECs are a requirement to maintain an active certification
status. Failure to meet the CEC requirement at the time
of renewal will result in your certification becoming in-active.

KEEPING TRACK
Can-Fit-Pro tracks all your conference activities with us
and keeps a record of all the CECs you have accumulated.
When a Recertification notice is sent to you, all you have
to do is verify the number of CECs we have recorded for
each of your certification designations. If you have enough
CECs to renew, simply pay your annual membership fee and
send a photocopy of your current CPR.

in a copy of your CEC Credit Log to help us update your
status for renewal. Click

not have a record of your attendance at non Can-Fit-Pro
events. If you wish to have these additional events considered
for accreditation, you will need to petition for the extra
credits you require.
When the proper Recertification documentation has been received
and processed by Can-Fit-Pro, a package containing your
new certificate, wallet card and membership card will arrive
to you in 6 to 8 weeks.
