Mel Clarke

Melanie played for the Dalhousie soccer team from 2001-2006 and was the captain from 2004-2006 before serving as assistant coach. She won two national gold medals, two silver, and two bronze with her club teams and represented PEI at the Canada Games. In 2015, Melanie placed 1st in the Reebok CrossFit Open within Nova Scotia, winning the title of “Fittest Person in Nova Scotia.” She finished 5th at the Senior National Weightlifting Championships in 2015.

Jason Davis

Jason is happiest when helping people achieve a life of freedom. This mission began in 2008 when he started his own personal training business and continued in 2011 when he dropped out of grad school to pursue his entrepreneurship career full time. In 2012, he became the youngest franchisee to own two Simply For Life franchises and in 2013 he became a partner with 360fit. In 2015, he left the entrepreneurship world to consult full time, helping other entrepreneurs achieve freedom in business. He has found success helping businesses grow by using his unique understanding of consumer behaviour.

Emily Dobrich

Emily Dobrich is dedicated to empowering others to become the best version of themselves through her work as an instructor and fitness professional. Her limitless enthusiasm for the industry led her to complete degrees in both Nutrition and Kinesiology. Emily loves finding opportunities to share her knowledge, experience and passion for health and fitness through teaching, writing and presenting.

Lisa Greenbaum

Lisa is the Director of YogaFit Canada, a senior master trainer and international presenter. An avid writer and traveler, she’s known for bringing an easygoing style to her teaching, encouraging everyone to honour and listen to the bodies they’re in and stay present. A featured presenter at FILEX 2014 and the winner of the Steve Block Vendor of the Year Award (2013), Lisa has been teaching group fitness classes in Toronto since 2001.

Maureen (Mo) Hagan

BScPT, BAPE

A global ambassador on the benefits of exercise and living well, Maureen Hagan is vice president of program innovation for GoodLife Fitness and canfitpro. Mo, as she is known in the fitness industry is a licensed physiotherapist, a Physical Health Educator and has been recognized for her work in fitness that spans three decades; named as one of Canada ’s 20 Most Influential Women in Sport and Physical Activity (2014) and most recently awarded IHRSA "Woman Leader" of the Year in honor of Julie Main. Mo is a published author and a regular contributor to consumer magazines and on-line publications including the Huffington Post.

Janice Hutton

Hons BPE, MA, B.Ed., PFLC, ACE, canfitpro Certified, Twist SCS, Spinning certified

Janice is the Director of Specialty Markets in the Education division of Twist Conditioning Inc. and is a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and conditioning coach with over 20 years in the industry. She has previously worked in certification development with canfitpro, been a university professor, and a swim coach. Janice has presented at events across Canada, published numerous articles in fitness and consumer magazines, and is a well-recognized speaker in the fitness industry.

Ric Isaac

Ric studied Sports Science and Exercise Physiology at Edith Cowan University in Australia. He then worked as a personal trainer before establishing his own business and writing a bestselling novel. After joining NPE as a client, Ric was so impressed that he moved to the headquarter office in Orlando to lead the client success team worldwide. Ric has coached hundreds of fitness business owners and is passionate about helping others achieve business success.

Charity Kaiser

Charity is a Halifax-based Fitness Kickboxing Canada master trainer course conductor. She has 10+ years of experience in the fitness industry as well as training in karate and muay thai. FKCI-certified for six years, she's assisted in conference presentations in Toronto and Halifax as well as FKCI MMA seminars and expos. Charity teaches the FKCI Level 1 and 2 kickboxing certification and has offered the FKCI-BOOTCAMP CANADA certification for the past three years.

Angie Miller, M.S., LPC

Angie is a health and fitness educator, speaker, and licensed counsellor integrating mental and physical strategies that lead to optimal health. Angie works as a therapist for Innovative Counselling Partners and teaches at Northern Illinois University in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education. She speaks at mental health and fitness conferences worldwide and is a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the Athletic and Fitness Association of America, and Kettlebell Concepts. Angie produces workout DVDs for home consumers and films for Gaiam TV. She writes for fitness journals and digital communities and publishes a weekly blog.

Patricia Poulsen

Patricia Poulsen is an Agatsu certified Kettlebell fitness instructor, an OKC certified Kettlebell Sport Coach, and is the only Canadian certified to instruct SPRY yoga – an intelligently designed yoga using a light weight kettlebell. She has been using Kettlebells for over 5 years for both fitness and sport. She is also a registered dietitian with close to 20 years experience who decided to leave the clinical field to pursue her true passion combining her knowledge of nutrition with her love of fitness. She owns and operates a nutrition consultation and kettlebell fitness business out of her Bedford home.

David Rafuse

With years of personal fitness experience and success at the provincial coaching level, David has a passion to help others to achieve improved health and well-being. In 2013, this drove him to open Blended Athletics, which has grown to be one of the largest CrossFit facilities in Eastern Canada. It's also one of few facilities that offers a dedicated space for an Olympic weightlifting program.

Kathy Smart

Kathy Smart is a multiple award-winning triple threat in the health and wellness space. A holistic nutritionist, best-selling cookbook author of Live the Smart Way and Dr. Oz show guest. Known as North America’s gluten-free expert, Kathy is a sought-after international speaker, go-to media expert and one of Huffington Post’s 50 Most Influential Social Media Tweeters. Kathy has been a fitness trainer for Special Olympics Canada and in 2015, launched the Live the Smart Way Expo, Canada's largest health and wellness tradeshow.

Melissa Tremblay

Melissa is a Kinesiologist specialized in Pilates and Yoga. She works with various clienteles and has an interest in rehabilitation. Her constant search for tools to relieve her clientele and her passion for well-being lead her to become a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. With her experience in the field of training and her knowledge of Thai Yoga Therapy, she passes her passion in an accessible way so that trainers can renew themselves to better serve their clients.

Carl Weston

BSc Sports Science (Kin), C.H.E.K Practitioner Level 4, CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 3, CHEK Golf Performance, AMTA, FDN

Carl has over 18 years experience in the health and fitness industry coupled with a wealth of entrepreneurial knowledge gathered through traveling the world as a personal trainer, rehab specialist and fitness manager. At his Toronto practice, Raven wellness, he works with clients and athletes on pain management, rehab, weight loss, and general fitness, and teaches a number of courses and workshops. Carl’s clients have included top athletes and record holders.

Leanne Wiese, BSc Health Promotion

As a lifelong athlete and fitness professional, Leanne is passionate about making health and wellness opportunities attainable and accessible to all. Leanne is a canfitpro certified Personal Training Specialist, Agatsu certified kettlebell and BarreEast certified fitness instructor. Always looking for ways to train smarter, Leanne has been working to improve her mobility and her favourite workout is an killer combination of kettlebell, TRX, and yoga. An outdoor enthusiast, Leanne takes any opportunity to spend time outside running, hiking, or paddling.
