ATTENDING SESSIONS AND CEC TRACKING

To attend sessions, you must present your name badge at the session room door. Your name badge will have a unique bar code to identify you as a conference delegate. The reverse side of your name badge lists the sessions for which you have pre-registered. Please have your name badge ready for the room monitor to review and scan when entering each session room.

Your name badge must be scanned for you to receive CECs for attended sessions.

To maintain the integrity of the conference, only paying delegates, volunteers, and those approved by canfitpro are invited to attend sessions. Any attendees found violating these rules will be removed from the venue and their canfitpro membership and certification(s) will be revoked. Please ensure you arrive on time for your session. If you arrive 20 minutes after the session starts, you will have missed a substantial part of the education and will not be eligible for CECs.

HANDOUTS

Session handouts will be available online one week prior and 30 days after the conference. Handouts will be listed by session number and name, and will be subject to availability (as submitted by presenter). Please remember to print your session handouts and bring them on-site or view them on your tablet or smart phone.

CHILDREN AND BABIES

For the safety and consideration of all concerned, particularly your child’s, children and babies are not allowed into conference sessions at any time. This includes babies in strollers. 301 – Meditation + Mindfulness (W/S)

Nathalie Lacombe

Meditation reduces stress, increases energy and mental clarity, and bolsters the immune system and overall vitality. This workshop will combine theory and practice, breaking down the science behind HRV (heart rate variability) monitoring and how it allows us to tune in to our own inner frequency. We’ll listen to our bodies in a deep and meaningful way as our practice guides us through a gentle moving meditation, adding in mantra-based (chanting) meditation, silent meditation, and more. We’ll continue with trust and surrender so that we can experience fully the state of meditation.

302 – Perfect Protocols for Chronic Conditions (L)

Igor Klibanov

When a doctor prescribes a medication, there is a lot of precision behind it. He’ll tell you what medication to take, at what dosage, in the morning, or evening, and with or away from meals. But when he recommends exercise, he leaves it very vague. What kind of exercise should you do? Cardio? Strength training? Stretching? How many times per week? At what intensity? Those details are missing. But in this seminar, you will learn the exact recommendations for diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, high blood pressure, and Alzheimer’s. Just like different medications are used for different conditions, so should different exercise protocols. That’s what you’ll get out of this session.

303 – Grow Beyond Trading Time for Money: How to Navigate the Journey from Fitness Coach to Business Owner (L)

Brady Johnson

Why do most coaches struggle so much in becoming successful business owners? Because they haven’t yet learned the skills, developed the systems, and built the team needed to continue getting (and keeping) new clients consistently each month.

And with good reason! It’s easy to get frustrated and feel overwhelmed when you’re trying to learn all the new skills required to grow a business, which requires significant financial investment (and sacrifices).

The risk of getting it wrong is so great. Follow the right path and your business and income grows.

Choose the wrong path (or stumble along the way) and you’ll quickly find yourself working harder with longer hours than ever before while making less money than when you started!

Learning Objectives:
1. Develop a mindset change to go from an individual contributor trading time for money to business owner that gets paid for creating results.
2. Learn how to create a strategic plan for getting and keeping more clients every month.
3. Understand the system and process of hiring and developing quality coaches who care about serving clients as much as you do.

336 – Hyper Activated Mobility: Should you Stabilize or Mobilize (W/S)

Chad Benson

Have you ever heard the phrase “proximal stability leads to distal mobility and strength?” Understanding this concept is essential to achieving effective movement. While mobility techniques are an important step in overcoming the diseases associated with automation, one major reason for lost mobility is poor stability. Adding more ROM on top of instability is dangerous, increasing the risk of injury, decreasing functional performance, and eventually causing chronic pain. In this hands-on and active seminar you’ll learn how to assess and correct (inhibit vs. activate) mobility deficits using two exceptionally impactful and portable tools: the Hyperice Sphere and Vyper.

341 – YogaFit Hip Openers (W/S)

Nathalie Lacombe

The nature of most fitness regimens keeps hip movement along one plane, leading to lack of mobility through both the hip joint and low back. In addition, research shows that the hips are where we store our trauma. In yoga, the hips are aligned to our sacral chakra – our emotional centre and creative energy. When this is blocked, we suffer. We’ll discuss the anatomy of the hip joint and its effect on surrounding areas of the body, exploring low back pain and abdominal weakness. You’ll get personal attention for proper alignment and learn poses for both you and your clients.
